Little Monkey Fabric Postcard Pattern
This foundation pattern is
was designed to create a 4" X 6" postcard sized block. This
is a great beginner pattern because all of the pieces of fabric are
sewn onto one pattern. The sample was made with hand dyed
orange and violet fabrics. If you like the little monkey block
pattern but need it larger or smaller, you could print out the free
pattern and enlarge/reduce it at your local copy store

Whirl Foundation Postcard Sized Block Pattern
Another easy paper pieced pattern this is a step more difficult
than the little monkey because it is in two units.
Instead of piecing all the fabrics onto one block, you piece all
of the fabrics onto Unit A, then all onto Unit B. To finish
the block you sew unit A to unit B and your block is complete.
Also sewn with hand dyed fabrics- note about hand dyed- make sure
that your values are distinct to make your pattern really pop.
As you can see in this example the medium blue and dark are much too
close in value.- Live and learn.

Empty Block Pattern
My very first dimensional-optical illusion block to design.
The paper pieced block was designed with easy draw on EQ6. It is a
little difficult to choose the colors to make it stand out. The
block is designed 4" X 6" to make a fabric postcard but you could
sew several together to make a small wall hanging or large quilt. |

Bug Jar Paper Pieced Block Pattern
Easy and really versatile pattern to make paper pieced jar
blocks. You could fill your jars with bugs, fruit, candy,
herbs, leaves anything you'd like. Makes a charming wall
hanging. Shown in photo are 4 jar blocks not pieced together yet on
my design wall. The free jar pattern includes one small jar and one
larger jar. You could alter the block to have two large jars
or to small jars you may need to add a little extra strip of fabric
to complete the block. |
